Piano lessons at Academy 88 are designed to suit the specific goals and desired outcomes of the student. We are happy to teach students of all abilities, experience and musical styles. Lessons can cover technique, musicality and sight-reading over a wide range of genres including; classical, musical theatre, contemporary, video games, film scores and jazz. At Academy 88, our lessons are taught using high quality digital pianos.

Vocal Tuition with Academy 88 focuses on helping students work towards a healthy, strong singing voice, specialising in Musical Theatre and Contemporary vocals. Our lessons include vocal exercises to develop range, agility, power and intonation, workshopping pieces of music, exercises in vocal health, performance techniques and connection with the lyrics. Whether you are wanting to learn how to sing in tune, perform on stage or sing just for your own enjoyment - we would love to help!
We are also able to work with students towards AMEB Examinations & Eisteddfod Performances.

Ear Training is an essential tool for all musicians to help develop an accurate musical ear, hone their intonation and improve their sight-reading. Our ear training sessions focus on interval, chord, and scale recognition, scale degrees, sight-reading/singing, cadences, chord patterns, rhythmic dictation and melodic dictation. Musicianship encompasses a good knowledge of music theory, the ability to read music and making thoughtful artistic choices. These lessons can focus on any of the above aspects depending on the needs of the student. 

Audition Preparation sessions are a great opportunity to workshop your material with an experienced audition pianist and musical director, so you are prepared to put your best foot forward in the audition room. We will work with you to ensure you have professionally presented sheet music with appropriate cuts and markings, help you select the best key, and guide you through giving tempos to your audition pianist.
